What Art? 1

Part I

1) Describe the mood of the image(s)  What is the expression on the faces of the models?  What is their posture?
The mood of these images is. The expression on the first woman's face is cognitive, almost in a somber manner, and demonstrates neither shyness or overconfidence. The second woman parallels this profound state, but also adds a component of 'naked truth' because no clothes are visible.
(a simple statement; "I am here.")

2) Think about technique.  How do you imagine these images were created? Oil paint? Photoshop?
If I were to take a gander, I think the technique is rather favorable to impasto leanings (paint laid on surface in thick layers) and involve canvas with paints or painted human subjects. The colors are more solid and less smooth in composition.
(layers of color and paint = the layers of a human being.)

3) Ask yourself what role color plays in the images(?)  Does it accentuate the mood?
Color not only accentuates the structure of the subject, but also provokes the idea that humans are imperfect and complicated.
(layers of color and paint = the layers of a human being.)

4) Finally, what do you think the artist intended to convey with these images?  What response was he/she attempting to evoke?  Do you think the effort was successful?
I think the artist intended to convey a sense of the human condition by emphasizing the imperfections and stature of human beings, while also including the visualization that the subject is the whole of various factors. It's not particularly happy or timid.
